HONDA Sportrax 400EX Rules the track

When our bike was a pure stock machine it outran modified Banshees, Bombadiers, Raptors, and some mild 250Rs. Like everyone else, we then changed tires and rims, rev limiter, modified plastic, handlebars, and silencer. We have now modified the motor, added aftermarket A-arms, front shocks, new gearing, longer swingarm and a wider rear axle. We have added a page on our motor buildup and a page listing the modifications we have made, the parts and manufacturers we chose, why we chose them, and what the outcome was. We have included the description of the custom modifications we made to compensate for inadequate construction of the stock bike.

The following two reports combine to form a manual for anyone that wants to take a stock 400EX and take it from Novice MX, through Amateur, and into the middle of the Expert ranks. Just add a talented rider. Follow this and you will save a Lot of money and time experimenting. Don't listen to your race wannabe buddies or the shops that just want to take your money.
